Facebook like other social media platform is facing the issues of harassment. This new feature also provides you an option to ignore a Messenger conversation and automatically move it out of their inbox, without having to block the sender.

In an attempt to prevent trolling and harassment, you can now block friend requests on Facebook.

Facebook Global Head of Safety Antigone Davis wrote on Facebook’s blog.

We’ve heard stories from people who have blocked someone only to encounter the same harasser using a different account,”  “In order to help prevent those bad encounters, we are building on existing features that prevent fake and inauthentic accounts on Facebook.”

Let’s suppose the user block someone and then that person create another account, so he or she can approach the user. With these new tools, Facebook will recognize when someone does that and prevent them from sending a message or friend request to user. Because Facebook is using signals, like IP addresses, for this purpose in order to recognize if someone has created a fake account.

The company said that to offer safety resources for people on Facebook, it has worked with experts in a variety of fields.
