To greet your friend, Facebook is going to roll out new ways on the platform to boost engagement.  Now users will be able to send a variety of greetings to their friends. In addition to the ‘Poke’ option, users will be able to send to their friends a wink, high-five, hug or wave. Facebook to test Greetings Feature to Give Poke a New Life.

Facebook has released this new feature has been released at the tenth anniversary of Poke. The Nation reported that the feature is currently testing in Britain, Thailand, Australia, Canada, Columbia, and France.

The new options can be seen under the ‘Hello’ button on your friend’s profile. By just long-pressing the button you will able to enjoy. While desktop’s users to get the new ‘greeting’ alternatives, have to hover the cursor over the ‘Hello’ button. In case of accidental send the new greetings also have an undo button. Facebook has introduced the ‘Hello’ button in June, which can be seen at the top of users’ profiles.

However Facebook should be careful with the launch of Pokes and Greetings. Because some women in past said that the Facebook Poke often felt like a creepy flirting tool. But on other hand the idea with Greetings seem to offer Facebook users more ways to reach out to friends.

Facebook did not confirm it yet that when these features would be publicly available.
