The scanning system is the latest in a series of steps Google has taken in its bid to do a better job of policing the Play store. It announced more affective checks for developers to root out “evil” coders who made and uploaded fraudulent apps.
The hackers now a days are using these apps to target their victims. They use malware apps to extract valuable data or steal assets from users. The different type of malware which have been used are computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses and spyware.
For android users, there is some good news. Google is taking some precautionary measures to tackle this situation quickly. They are planning to counter this malware. So that Google play store would be able to completely eliminate that threat. Because all off the apps are uploaded to it.
There are unlimited number of apps uploaded on the Google play store. Malicious Play apps can victimize lots of people. Malicious code found in June was in apps downloaded 400 million times. That’s why the company has told the reporters that, we can’t do it alone. Because of enormous app load. Therefore, Google has planned to join other security companies. These companies Zimperium, ESET and Lookout will work together on what Google has called the App Defense collaboration.
The App defense will establish a collaborative scanning system. It will examine apps as they pass through Google’s syndrome and offered to Android users via the Play store.
Working from massive databases of known malware, behavioral clues and machine-learning models of threats the scanners will look for trojans, adware, ransomware, banking malware and phishing attacks.
