To make Vote casting easier for citizens of Pakistan, Election Commision of Pakistan has devised a system, with which Voters will be able to check their polling station via SMS.
Check Your Polling Station Via SMS
Voters will have to send their national identity card (NIC) number to 8300. 8300 messaging service is active for a long time for elections 2018 but it only used to provide information on the electoral area.
Now ECP has updated its database, and soon a reply from 8300 will also provide details of the polling stations. The service will considerably reduce the effort required by voters to find their respective polling stations and simplify an otherwise complicated procedure.
Find out your Polling Station via ECP App:
‘Click ECP’ is an application that you can download free of charge on your smartphones to access your voting data. On this app, you can easily find out your polling stations, whether your vote is registered or not, and the constituency in which your vote is registered.
Officials from National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) confirms that overseas Pakistanis will not be able to vote in the forthcoming general election 2018. They said that Pakistan nationals abroad were being misled through various campaigns on social networking platforms. No Official decision has been made so far regarding the online voting system for overseas Pakistanis.
