Finally one can view their favorite shows on plane and subway. Netflix has announce the launching of offline playback for your favorite series and movies. Right now selection includes some stuff made by Netflix and some random choices too. Netflix Finally Lets You View Shows Offline.

For a long time Netflix users wanted to save titles for viewing offline. This feature will let subscribers watch specific shows and movies offline. It would make firm more competitive with alternatives that do allow downloads. This feature will be available before 2017.

When you update the latest version of Netflix on iOS or android, a download button will appear next to the play button for some shows it allows,, letting you save content to watch later on when you might not have any internet connection.

Eddy Wu, Director of Product Innovation, said:

‘While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where Internet is expensive or limited.

There are two qualities for watching videos: standard and higher. Standard quality is a slightly lower video resolution that requires less storage space and takes less time to download. Higher quality is a higher video resolution that requires more storage space and takes more time to download.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said:

The company should keep an open mind about offering the ability to download content for later viewing

It is definitely an attractive option for people who travel a lot or who live in area where internet connection is not reliable. Amazon also offers an offline viewing option through its Instant Video service, but it’s only available for a selected group of movies or TV shows hosted by the service.
