Nokia 5 Gets Android 9 Pie update

Recently, HMD Global revealed its plans for updating all its phones to Android Pie. Now, the company has announced that it has started rolling out the update to the Nokia 5 (2017).  Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer has already confirmed in a tweet that this week the update will be rolled out for the Nokia 5 and Nokia 3.1 Plus.

Nokia 5 Gets Android 9 Pie update

Dear readers, if you are owning a Nokia 5 (2017) then you should check for the update. With this latest update, you will get new system navigation, adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, predictive app actions, and January’s security patch.

In February 2017, Nokia 5 came with Android Nougat and last year it received an Android Oreo update. It has now been updated to Android Pie making it two major OS updates.

Nokia 5 (2017) comes with a 5.2-inch HD screen, a Snapdragon 430 processor, 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. It has a single 13MP sensor on the back and an 8MP sensor in front for selfies. The phone also features a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, FM Radio, and packs a 3000mAh battery.

All three Nokia 5 variants are going to receive an Android 9 Pie update. The update started rolling out to the Nokia 5.1 Plus on December 27, 2018, and the Nokia 5 received it on January 24, 2019.
