Nokia Sues Apple for Patent Infringements

It seems like the war for patent infringement is begin between different companies. Recently, Apple and Samsung were fighting and Samsung win the war. Now Nokia Sues Apple for Patent Infringements. The finish company, Nokia has filled a lawsuit in US and Europe against Apple. Nokia claims that Apple is using 32 of its patents in its devices without taking its permission and is not paying for their use. Nokia claimed that Apple is using its patent like “display, user interface, software, antenna, chipsets and video coding, but not paying for it.

Nokia Sues Apple for Patent Infringements

“Since agreeing a license covering some patents from the Nokia Technologies portfolio in 2011, Apple has declined subsequent offers made by Nokia to license other of its patented inventions which are used by many of Apple’s products,”

Read a statement from Nokia.

Nokia sold off its smartphone division to Microsoft in 2014. However, the company claimed that it hold claim to thousands of patents under its Nokia Technologies division. In its latest lawsuits, the company stated in 2011, Apple did agree to pay for using some of its patents. In addition to it, the company was trying to get extra payment from Apple for the use of its other patents. But Apple did not take it serious and did not give any response to it. So Nokia take its dispute to the court system.

However, Apple has not yet officially respond to Nokia’s accusations.
