Xiaomi Witnesses 27.6M Smartphone Shipments in Q3 2017. In terms of production and shipments, the world’s number five smartphones brand, Xiaomi has shown a ground-breaking record in the Q3 2017. The Chinese equipment manufacturer has announced on Thursday that Xiaomi shipped 27.6 million Android smartphones in the third quarter of the year, but Samsung is still on the top with 83.3 million smartphones shipments in Q3 2017.

Xiaomi is known as one of the top smartphones vendors in China. Now it is expanding its wings in emerging markets like India, where just in 2 days it sold over 1 million units of its midrange smartphone few months back. However, Huawei has also made record with smartphones shipments of 39.1 million in Q3 2017. It gives tough time to its rival Apple which has 46.7 smartphones shipments in the third quarter of the year 2017.

By concluding the reports from IDC in an event in China, where the launch of Xiaomi Redmi 5 and 5 plus was held, Xiaomi revealed these stats.

The Chinese original equipment manufacturer is also recording strong performance in Russia, Indonesia, and a handful of European countries.

Xiaomi has achieved a huge 102.6% increase over the third quarter of year 2016. The market share has doubled from 3.7% to 7.4%, in a result of that it pushed out Vivo  from the list of Top 5 contestants. During the past months, Xiaomi’s sale has increased particularly due to its mid-range and budget-friendly smartphones.
