At Apple’s WorldWide Developer Conference, Apple launches HomePod– a smart home speaker. It is a 7-inches tall device and covered in a “seamless 3D mesh” fabric with acoustic properties. It took three years for Apple to launch this new device. Earlier, back in 2014, Apple launched its smart watch.
Apple Launches HomePod-A Smart Speaker for Homes
Like the Amazon Echo and Google Home, the HomePod will play music and also help people to manage their lives and homes. Moreover, Siri will respond to requests for information and other help around the house.
Apple CEO Tim Cook claimed the HomePod is a
“breakthrough home speaker with amazing sound and incredible intelligence that will reinvent home audio”.
Moreover, this HomePod is more expensive as compared to Amazon Echo and Google Home. The speaker will sell for about $350 in December. Whereas Amazon sells the main version of the Echo for $180; Google’s Home speaker goes for $130.
HomePod will have spatial awareness so the music it plays will be adjusted to the size of the room. Moreover, if two pods are set up they will be able to work together. It also serves as a smart voice assistant.
Recently, Apple has launched a new iOS update that will be compatible to all Apple devices. The new iOs 10.3.2 update is introduced to fix the bugs. It will also be responsible for improving performance and security features.
