Facebook wants the teen anonymous app tbh to be its next Instagram.  So Zuckerberg announced that Facebook Acquires ‘tbh‘- An Anonymous Messaging App for Youth. Facebook will let tbh to operate independently with its own brand.

tbh became very famous and score 5 million downloads and 2.5 million daily active users in no time. The anonymous app, tbh is a kind of honest app that allows people to communicate with their friends anonymously. It allows users to exchange compliments which are sent via in app quizzes.

co-creator Nikita Bier said:

“If we’re improving the mental health of millions of teens, that’s a success to us.”

Financial terms of the deals are not disclosed however there are rumors that the price paid is less than $100 million. According to deal, the four co-creators  Bier, Erik Hazzard, Kyle Zaragoza and Nicolas Ducdodon will join Facebook’s Menlo Park headquarters. They will grow their app with Facebook’s cash, engineering and localized sources.

The tbh team said:

“When we met with Facebook, we realized that we shared many of the same core values about connecting people through positive interactions. Most of all, we were compelled by the ways they could help us realize our vision and bring it to more people.”

While announcing about the deal Facebook said:

 “tbh and Facebook share a common goal — of building community and enabling people to share in ways that bring us closer together. We’re impressed by the way tbh is doing this by using polling and messaging, and with Facebook’s resources tbh can continue to expand and build positive experiences.”

tbh will  be relieved now as Facebook will help it to keep users entertained. The app will remain free to download on iOS and Android.
