IBA Student’s ‘Investify Stocks’ App Receives Remarkable Recognition

Merely five months into its take-off the app has been receiving remarkable traction and getting enthusiastic reviews from customers on Play Store.

The October-2015 start-up has already acknowledged 4,800 downloads, whereas upholding its retention rate and commitment level with on the go users standing at 3,000. Daily active users have touched 1,200. The app’s free version is stirring 5,000 installs, whereas the paid form, which charges $20, has also been downloaded by almost 30 people since the inauguration.

“We weren’t expecting to grow this quickly.”

App founder Rafiq Lightwala said.

 “We’ve received a number of emails where people unfamiliar with online trading at PSX have found this app simple to use.”

Said Lightwala, who at present is pursuing an MBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi.

While elucidating about the app the IBA student revealed that there were various portfolio tracking tools and apps globally but not a single one was present in Pakistan. The apps that were already there in the market, Lightwala informed, were only trading apps functioned by dealers and had their own limits.

Lightwala also said that one of the main problem with those apps, was clients with numerous brokers were not able to trace a collection in one app.

According to Lightwala,

“It was this market (gap) that the app aims to tap into. In fact, portfolio tracking and watchlist tools, which are the distinguishing features of the app, are the most viewed screens on Investify Stocks Pakistan.”

The app offers users with market information, such as live trading, company profiles, earnings and dividends information, trading volumes and bid and deliver prices as well as daily market agents.

“We think going forward in the next few years, a lot of recent graduates looking for investment opportunities are going to start exploring the PSX and that is where we see the potential.”

Lightwala said.

He further added that he aims at the completion of the iOS version and present new features.
