This Technology Speeds Up Your Internet to 10,000 Mbps per Second. Slow internet speeds and the Internet rush hour could be history with the design of a new hardware demonstrated by UCL researchers. This technology promises to speed up slow Internet at home ad it can enable speed up to 10,000 megabits-per-second (Mbps) or 10 gigabits-per-second (Gbps).

The researcher predicted the future growth in the number of mobile devices along with the promise of 5G to enable faster internet on smartphone.
Leading researcher Sezer Erkilinc explained:
“Although 300 Mb/s may be available to some, average UK speeds are currently 36 Mb/s. By 2025, average speeds over 100 times faster will be required to meet increased demands for bandwidth-hungry applications such as ultra-high definition video, online gaming and the Internet of Things.”
Although they are most likely to experience bandwidth restrictions but with their new optical receiver technology this problem will not be big issue.
This new receiver when compared to the other receivers in the market would be simpler, cheaper and smaller. In the design of these receivers the coding technique of fiber access networks was adopted. This approach has the additional cost-saving benefit of using the same optical fiber for both upstream and downstream data.
Erkilinc also said:
“This simple receiver offers users a dedicated wavelength, so user speeds stay constant no matter how many users are online at once. It can co-exist with the current network infrastructure.”
With the increasing need of faster internet access, this new technology has gained much popularity.
