According to a report from TechCrunch Facebook Messenger users on iOS are facing a new bug that prevents them from typing more than a few words at a time.

Some people have tweeted on Twitter and complained about the issue. User shared about the problem with a screen recording. People are able to type a few words into the message field before the keyboard completely freezes up. It prevents them from typing anything else.
However, up till now there is no any solution to encounter this problem. Users have tweeted on Twitter that restarting the phone or even deleting the app could not solve the problem.
