Nokia Secures 11 Position in Smartphone Brands Globally
Neil Shah, a tech analyst tweeted on the topic of the 2017 comeback of the Nokia brand. Neil Shah is a partner at Counterpoint, a Hong Kong-based industry analysis firm. He revealed that Nokia has jumped to the eleventh spot on the global smartphone brand list in latest numbers for Q4 2017. Nokia Secures 11 Position in Smartphone Brands Globally.
Since HMD Global has started selling Nokia-branded phones, the brand has gone to 11th position from ZERO in the smartphone market. It has been reported that Nokia has sold more smartphones than Google, HTC, Sony, Alcatel, Lenovo, ASUS, and OnePlus in Q4 of 2017.

Other than smartphones, Nokia has secured number one brand of feature phones, dominating the market with 20.7 million units sold in the last three months of 2017.
HMD Global ends up in sixth place in the mobile industry with a 5% share of the total market. Which puts the company under Oppo, as it has 6.8% of the market.
In 2016, HMD Global obtained the rights to sell Nokia-branded smartphones, only after few months of Microsoft offloaded part of Nokia to a subsidiary of Foxconn. HMD Global has also promised some surprises at Mobile World Congress 2018, which will takes place in a few weeks.
