Qualcomm’s New Chips to Charge Smartphones from Zero to 80 Percent in 35 mins
Qualcomm, the Chipmaker, has just announced about its coming popular Quick Charge technology.
Already Qualcomm has implemented its Quick Charge 1.0 and 2.0 technology in a number of devices, and now its the right time to introduce 3.0 standard to the world.
“Quick Charge 3.0 is the third generation of this technology and is the first of its kind to employ Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage (INOV), a new algorithm developed by Qualcomm Technologies, designed to allow portable devices the ability to determine what power level to request at any point in time for optimum power transfer, while maximising efficiency.”

The firm said in a press statement.

The company is claiming that Quick Charge 3.0 technology is 27% faster than previously introduced technologies. As Qualcomm said:
“With Quick Charge 3.0 you can charge a typical phone from zero to 80 percent in about 35 minutes compared to conventional mobile devices without Quick Charge that may typically require almost an hour and a half.”

Quick Charge 3.0 technology will be available on following processors:
- Snapdragon 430
- Snapdragon 617
- Snapdragon 618
- Snapdragon 620
- Snapdragon 820
