Ufone Upgrades & Doubles its 3G Network via Spectrum Refarming. As we all know that Ufone doesn’t have 4G license so it is trying to improve its 3G services by almost doubling its 3G spectrum via refarming.
Before, Ufone’s 3G network was operating via 5MHz of spectrum in 2100 MHz band. It was awarded this band during 2014’s spectrum auction. But now Ufone has almost doubled its 3G spectrum to around 9.2 MHz.
Ufone Upgrades & Doubles its 3G Network via Spectrum Refarming
On this achievement CEO of Ufone, Rainer Rathgeber said:
“We have successfully upgraded 3G services in Lahore and surroundings including Kasur, Sheikhupura, Raiwind and all the highways in the area. Ufone customers in these cities are already experiencing better speeds and quality on company’s 3G network. Alongside refarming spectrum, our company also invested on network expansion in Lahore region as Ufone has become first and only operator to have converted all cell sites in the city to 3G.”
The telecom operator has already improved its network in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, Sialkot and Quetta. The users are now enjoying crystal clear voice and faster 3G internet experience.
As the competition gets tougher day by day, it requires lots of hard work to stay in the competition and bring the best services. This is a good step taken by the telecom company.
No doubt Ufone has remained the best operator for many years. But due to some unfortunate reasons its market position started deteriorating. Now with the upgradation and doubling of its 3G network, Ufone can recover its lost position in the market.
