The new app Windowed now lets you upload pictures and videos to Instagram directly from your desktop. This app is created by photographer and programmer Felix Sun. Windowed App Let you Upload Images to Instagram Directly from your Desktop.

This app is essentially a tiny mobile browser that you can log into Instagram’s website through. Basically  Instagram’s website allows for photo uploading on if you have logged in through your smartphone. If you open up the same website on your computer browser and you will not see the upload options.

Actually Windowed provides a stripped down mobile browser for computer that intends of posting photos to Instagram.

Sun further explains:

“Instagram already provides the functionality to upload photos through a web browser, but sadly this feature is locked to mobile web browsers only. Windowed overcomes this issue by pretending to be a mobile browser, allowing you to visit the Instagram mobile website directly from your Mac or Windows PC.”

And the most interesting part about this app is that Windowed does not need access to your Instagram username or password, since you are just logging in directly to the Instagram website. Once you have logged in, click on the camera icon in the top bar to start a photo upload. Isn’t it simple?
