WhatsApp Bug on Android: Deleting Old Messages & Stangers can Read Your Messages

Almost daily, we come across bugs and scams associated with WhatsApp. So its just another day and we have come across a bug that exposed your personal messages to strangers. This issue was revealed by WhatsApp user who told that she can see someone else’s private messages and pictures in her WhatsApp app. This is not the first time that the so-called secure messaging app is hit by bugs and viruses but this one is of too much concern. This time WhatsApp Bug on Android is annoying people with two main problems.

So it means that if someone has your old number, he can access your messages history? Scary!

WhatsApp Bug on Android is Annoying Many People

Later on being asked, Miss Fuller also revealed that the phone and SIM both are first hand and are not used before.

Yes it was a new device. No it wasn’t second hand. It was not a second hand SIM. Yes I’m sure they weren’t my messages, or groups that I was added to. Yes they were in plaintext. I am sure it’s my phone number. It was not restored from a backup.

However previously, WhatsApp had asked its users to migrate their WhatsApp account to a new number before stop using their particular phone.

 “Before you stop using a particular phone number, you should migrate your WhatsApp account to the new number. For a simple way to do this, use our Change Number feature. By using this feature, you will be able to migrate your account information (including your profile information) as well as your groups”.

Another bug spotted by some users is deleting their old chats. This bug was reported by WABetaInfo.
