With this service your messages and calls on Messenger will be more secure. This service will be helpful in sending financial information to an accountant. Moreover you can also share your secret information with your friend or family members. because after some time it will delete that messages.

Messages sent using this service can only be read by the sender and the other person from one device. Not even Facebook can see it. Within the ‘secret conversation’ you can also choose to set a timer to control the length of time each message sent remains visible within the chat.

Starting a secret conversation with someone is optional. That’s because many people want Messenger to work when you switch between devices such as a tablet, desktop computer or phone. Secret conversations can only be read on one device. But this service is not available for all right now.

Whatsapp, which is owned by Facebook, started using end-to-end encryption in April. Apple also uses the software in iMessages. Google has also announced its new message service Allo will use it.

The difference between the feature in WhatsApp and Facebook, is that the Facebook is letting you manually activate it.
