Instagram Update Lets you Re-Share Stories Posts from Friends

Instagram keeps on launching new features on and off to remain in limelight. Many people had left Facebook and shifted to photo sharing app, Instagram. Just recently Instagram added a most requested feature to stories. Now Instagram Update Lets you Re-Share Stories Posts from Friends.

Instagram Added @Mention Sharing to Photos, Videos in Stories

It is a very good news, however, the bad news is that this feature is limited to the posts you are tagged in. it means you won’t be share to repost stories posted to your own accounts.

The name of the feature is @mention sharing and gets started when someone tags a user in your story. Upon sharing the story, a pop up will appear saying  “Mentioned users may repost this story for 24 hours.”

The friends mentioned by you will get a notification via a direct message telling them that they were mentioned with a link to “Add this to Your Story”.

Upon tapping “Add this to your story”, and the story will be shown in a preview where one can easily adjust it or have text, stickers and more added to it. When added, followers will see the original poster’s username, and they can tap it to see that person’s profile.

The original poster’s username will be visible to users’ followers who see their Stories, and it will be tappable so that those profiles can be explored, as well.

Only public accounts can have their Stories shared.

Yesterday we came to know that Instagram is trying to go away with the video length limitation. This news feature was revealed by The Wall Street Journal which published a report regarding this new feature that will allow users to long video clips up to an hour.
