Once upon a time, Nokia was dominating the mobile world. There was no one to challenge its supremacy. But, with the advent of smartphones into market. Nokia lost its preponderance. Therefore, they are trying to make their mark in the market again. So, for that purpose they are launching new smartphones. Their most recent invention is the Nokia 7.2. I will be giving a review on it.
Nokia 7.2 Full Review
Let’s start with the design.
The design of the Nokia 7.2 is attractive. It is smart and decent. On the front side, there is a camera and a delicate black screen. On the right edge, there is power button and volume keys. On the downside edge of phone, there is a speaker and a charging port. The left corner of the phone is comprised of sim and micro SD slots. Along with that, there is a button for directly calling the google assistant. On the back side of the phone, there is a rear camera and a fingerprint scanner. Overall, the design of the phone is compact. And while holding, gives a good feeling to the user.
Nokia 7.1 has an IPS LCD capacitive multi touch screen. The size of the screen is 6.3 inches. The resolution it provides is 1080 x 2280 Pixels. For the purpose of protecting the LCD, a corning gorilla glass 3 is available. There are some extra features like HDR 10 and always-on display.
Nokia 7.2 comes in two variants. In the first variant, there is 64 GB built-in hard disk for space storage. And a 4 GB RAM. The other variant has more space. It comes with a !28 GB built-in storage and a 6 GB RAM. Accompanying that, it has a micro SD slot available which has a limit up to 512 GB.
Nokia 7.2 has a unique triple camera. It has a resolution of 48 MP, f/1.8, (wide), 1/2″, PDAF + 8 MP, f/2.2, 13mm (ultrawide) + 5 MP, depth sensor. There is an LED flash at the back. The quality which this camera provides is very reasonable. The resolution of the video from this camera is 2160p @30fps. And it also enables video in 1080p @30fps for normal use. There are some extra features with it. Like Zeiss optics, Phase detection, Geo-tagging, touch focus, Panorama, and HDR.
The front camera of Nokia 7.2 is impressive too. It has a resolution of 20 MP. The video quality of the front camera is HD (1080p @30fps) as well. It has a couple of extra features which are Zeiss optics and HDR. But after checking its camera, I noticed that HDR isn’t that affective.
Nokia 7.2 is available in PKR 47,500/-. It is bit expensive regarding its specifications. No doubt, the built quality of the phone is quite nice. But still, it should have a much lower price in the market.
Nokia 7.2 has a 3500 mAh Li-ion non-removable battery. There is a fast charger given with the smartphone. It gives an output of 10W.
Processor and operating system:
Nokia 7.2 has the latest operating system which is Android 9.0 (pie). But Nokia has tagged it with a new name. The android one.
There is an octa-core (4 x 2.2 GHz Kryo 260 + 4 x 1.8 GHz Kryo 260) processor. The chipset installed in the phone is Qualcomm SDM660 Snapdragon 660 (14 nm). It is just fine if we compare it with the price of the phone.
Nokia 7.2 supports all the WLAN options. That are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot. A Bluetooth v5.0 with A2DP, LE, and apt-X is available in the smartphone. It can support all internet data options which are GPRS, Edge, 3G (HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps), 4G (LTE-A (2CA) Cat6 300/50 Mbps or LTE Cat4 150/50 Mbps). Along with that, it has a GPS, FM radio and supports USB 2.0, Type C.
Nokia 7.2 has some extra features. They include Accelerometer, Compass, Gyro, Proximity, plastic frame, Active noise cancellation, dedicated mic, Document viewer/editor and a Photo/video editor.
Warranty, Security features and Sim options:
Nokia 7.2 comes with a warranty of 2 years which is rare. And a plus point for the phone. The security feature includes a fingerprint scanner, phone lock and a pattern lock.
There is a dual sim option in the smartphone. A nano size sim slot is available.
The design and quality of the phone is brilliant. But the price at which its available is very high. So, Nokia should rethink about it. And if they want to have a good sale in the market. They must reconsider their price tag.
