Arif Shafique Appointed As Nokia Country Head For Pakistan & Afghanistan

Arif Shafique started his career in 1991 from Paktel Limited in the field of Direct Sales. It proved to be a stepping stone in his career. Paktel gave Arif an adequate level of exposure to Pakistan’s Telecom Industry and helped him learn what drives it. He later worked at senior positions with a number of leading organizations. Then he eventually joined Nokia Pakistan in 2007. He left Nokia after serving it for many years. Recently, we came to know that he has joined back the company. He will again serve the company as Nokia Country Head.

Arif Shafique Will Now Serve the Company As Nokia Country Head

Arif Shafique brings almost 20 years of experience and a track record of strong leadership skills with leading companies in the telecommunications and automobiles sector. His specific focus was on sales and marketing. He was appointed as Country Manager for Nokia Pakistan and Afghanistan region in 2007.
Mr. Shafique played a key role in the organization mainly for increasing the sales of handsets with different available channels when he became Head of Sales in 2010. Then he joined Lenovo in July 2014 as the Smart Devices Country Manager. Furthermore, after serving the company for about three years, Arif Shafique resigned as CEO Lenovo in 2017.
Now we have come to know that he is back in Nokia. He has joined back the company and will serve as Nokia’s Country head. Per Ekman, who is the Vice President of the Middle East and North Africa at HMD Global stated on his appointment that:

“We are delighted to welcome Arif to HMD Global. His vast industry experience, coupled with his personal integrity and leadership skills are crucial for HMD Global as the brand grows in Pakistan.”

Furthermore, Arif Shafique added that:

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead such dedicated and passionate team at HMD Global. True to the HMD Global Vision, my goal will be to use cutting-edge solutions to enable the delivery of technology that can help enhance the lives of consumers”

This appointment is a reflection of Nokia’s commitment to continue to grow and evolve the Pakistani market.
