With the advent of e-commerce, people are more reverted towards online shopping and can easily order things while sitting at home. Keeping in view the ever-growing e-commerce market and the ever-growing interest of users in the shopping, many social media giants have jumped in the race to make shopping a memorable experience for their users. Facebook collaborated with BigCommerce back in October, in order to make product links more prominent in the app’s feed. Following Facebook, Instagram has also incorporated same shopping feature in Instagram stories.

This feature will be globally rolled out today and upon updating the app, one will see shopping bag icon in a story. If you want some more details about the product before purchasing it, you need to tap it.
Only a few prominent brands will be able to market their products in this way such as Adidas and Louis Vuitton. Moreover, with time more brands will be added soon to the shopping list.
Instagram, in their latest stats, revealed that 300 people use Instagram stories on daily basis. It means brands will have room to bring a lot of potential customer on board via this platform.
The company has not mentioned that it is necessary to update the app to get this feature so maybe it will be auto-enabled by the server-side switch. In case you don’t see the option, update the app as there is a new version of the app on APK mirror.
