PTA Issues A Simplified Procedure To Protect WhatsApp Accounts Against Hijacking

We all know that there had been a lot of reports about the WhatsApp Account hacking. The Cyber Crime wing of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) unveiled that a lot of incidents regarding WhatsApp account hacking have been happening for many months. That’s why PTA has finally decided to combat that problem. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has recently issued a simplified procedure for the general public to protect their WhatsApp accounts against hijacking.

Now You Can Protect Your WhatsApp Accounts Against Hijacking By Following This Simple Procedure

PTA wants its users to enable WhatsApp two-step verification in order to avoid hijacking. They have taken these steps due to the increasing number of WhatsApp hijacking cases across the world.  WhatsApp users and mobile subscribers have been advised to follow four steps for verification and protection of their WhatsApp account. The process as explained by the PTA consists of four steps which are mentioned below:

Procedure

(1) Select three dots on the upper right corner of WhatsApp, Go to WhatsApp settings and click account

(2) Click two-step verification

(3) Click Enable

(4) Enter same six-digit PIN twice enter the email address for future PIN recovery

PTA Issues A Simplified Procedure To Protect WhatsApp Accounts Against HijackingThe Telecom Experts have unveiled that WhatsApp hacking is becoming a major problem that needs to be sorted out as early as possible. According to the recent reports, around 90 cases concerning WhatsApp hacks were received to Cyber Wing during November 2018. People of Karachi are mostly facing this problem. Furthermore, a large number of WhatsApp accounts also got hacked in Karachi.  The people of Pakistan usually lack awareness and that’s why this hacking thing is getting common nowadays.

In addition to all this, cyber-security agencies of many countries have sent out security alerts due to WhatsApp account hacking. These alerts let the users know about the relatively new method of hijacking WhatsApp accounts using mobile providers’ voicemail systems.
