WhatsApp Beats Snapchat in Terms of Active Users of Status Feature

WhatsApp, Facebook owned company, has more active users of it’s status feature as compared to Snapchat. We can say WhatsApp beats Snapchat in terms of active users of status feature on daily basis.

WhatsApp Status has 450 million daily active users, while Snapchat has just 191 million users which is almost a third of WhatsApp Status users. However, 1.5 billion users are using the WhatsApp.

The announcement of WhatsApp status users was made at F8 conference. Facebook has also announced two new feature for the app. Now WhatsApp users will be able to make group video call. An another feature is that the app will bring sticker packs for the users.

According to a report, WhatsApp users spend almost 2 billion minutes per day on the app. Zuckerberg shared the new stats on Facebook’s Q3 earnings call. Snapchat has 187 million daily active users.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on the call:

Research shows that interacting with friends and family on social media tends to be more meaningful and can be good for our well-being, and that’s time well spent. But when we just passively consume content, that may be less true.

He further added:

WhatsApp Status is by far the biggest of these products and continues to grow quickly

At the F8 conference, Facebook has also unveiled the Oculus Go standalone VR headset, a new dating service for Facebook and a video chat feature on Instagram.
