Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook Creates More Accurate Language Translation System using AI. Facebook now supports 45 different languages. If you come across a post in a different language, you can translate it into your own language.
Facebook Creates More Accurate Language Translation System using AI
According to Facebook, its machine learning experts have created a neural network that translates language up to nine times faster and more accurately than other current systems that use a standard method to translate text.
The scientists who developed the new system work at the social network’s FAIR group, which stands for Facebook A.I. Research.
Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg said,
we’re publishing research on how AI can deliver better language translations. With a new neural network, our AI research team was able to translate more accurately between languages, while also being nine times faster than current methods.
Getting better at translation is important to connect the world. We already perform over 2 billion translations in more than 45 languages on Facebook every day, but there’s still a lot more to do. You should be able to read posts or watch videos in any language, but so far the technology hasn’t been good enough.
Facebook is not revealing any plan of when it will integrate the new technology with its consumer-facing product.
Recently, Facebook has Announced Q1 2017 Report with 49% Increase in Revenue. Facebook now has 1.9 billion monthly active users which give a tough competition to its rivals.
