Now Google Maps Allows You Follow Businesses to Receive Updates

Google Maps is rolling out a new feature for Android users to keep up with local businesses. Now Users will be able to follow businesses in the Google Maps app that is similar to following Facebook pages. Once you follow business, you will receive all the latest update in the “For you” tab.

Currently, this new feature is only available on Google Maps for Android. It is not mentioned anywhere that whether the feature will be rolling out to iOS at some point. However, Google usually brings new features to its own operating system first.
According to the reports, Google Maps users will soon be able to connect with new businesses before they officially open. The businesses that are planning to open soon can create a free Business Profile that will be visible to users up to 3 months in advance of opening. Locations that are about to open in near future will be indicated with an opening date in orange text.
This new feature will be available over the next few weeks. It is to be expected that Google might add more social features to Maps. This new feature will allow you to stay in the loop on any news, events, or upcoming offers.
