WhatsApp for iPhone Brings Support for Media Previews

One of the most popular messaging services, WhatsApp has received an important update that enables the most requested feature: Media Preview. This update is received by WhatsApp for iPhone.

If you have an iPhone and have WhatsApp installed then you would know that all images received in chat are tagged with camera emoji in notifications. It means you always need to open the app to check the image or video. Good news! now it’s not necessary as WhatsApp has announced that now its app supports media previews.

If you have iPhone which supports 3D touch, just press on notifications which shows you media without opening WhatsApp. There is another option to see media preview i.e; one can swipe left on notifications and tap view.

WhatsApp keeps on making things easier for iOS users. Now WhatsApp allows iOS users to download images and GIFs directly from the notifications but only media auto- download option is disabled.

The new media previews feature is not available for everyone. WhatsApp knows about this bug and has promised that this issue will be fixed in the next update.

Apart from support for media previews the update also brings improvements to search statuses. It means now users will be able to find the status directly from the status tab.
