Youtube keeps on introducing new interesting features to engage its users. A few weeks back, Youtube Video Embeds got redesigned bringing new handy features and shortcuts that made things easier for the users. Then we came to know that Youtube has added a number of feature films to its inventory. Now, we have come to know that Youtube Annotations Feature is soon going to disappear. Youtube Pop-Up Boxes In Videos will be disabled in January for good.

Youtube Pop-Up Boxes In Videos Will Be Discontinued Soon

The Youtube annotation feature was introduced a long time ago. This feature allows users to add pop-up boxes to their videos. The users can insert them with links of other videos. Furthermore, it also helps to correct errors during the production of the videos. As this feature was only available for the desktop users so it became useless when the people shifted to the mobile phones. We all know that the majority of people nowadays use Mobile Phones instead of PCs. In March 2017, Youtube announced that they will soon discontinue this feature. We don’t know why it took too long to make this feature completely unavailable for the users. However, now Youtube has plans to completely disable it from the platform starting January 15, 2019. They unveiled it on the Youtube Support page.

In addition to this, it is expected that in the near future we can get rid of annoying unskippable ads. Youtube will replace one non-skippable ad with two back to back skippable ads. In this way, we can continue to watch longer videos without interruption. This new change is under testing right now. However, there are still no words by Youtube about its rollout yet. Hopefully, this major change will provide a distraction-free video watching experience to all of the users very soon.
